1. What is ‘Hong Kong Masters 2017’?

Hong Kong Masters 2017 is organized by the Hong Kong Billiard Sports Control Council Co. Ltd. (HKBSCC), subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and sanctioned by World Snooker Limited (WSL), it is not only one of the major events commemorating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, but also a milestone of the local Snooker scene.

2.What is the format of the ‘Hong Kong Masters 2017’ Main Tournament?

The Main Tournament will take place in the form of a professional ranking tournament where seeds are placed according to the official rankings of the players i.e. the top four players will be placed as seeds. It will adopt a knockout system. There will be four Quarterfinals on 20 and 21 July that are best of nine frames, and two Semi-finals and Final on 22 and 23 July that are best of 11 frames.

3. What is the format of the ‘Hong Kong Masters 2017’ Exhibition Game?

For the Exhibition Game, two Legend players Jimmy White and Stephen Hendry together with local player On-Yee Ng will compete in the format of Pot Black, which is extremely popular back in the 80s. Each game has two frames and the winner will be determined by the player's total number of points scored.

4. Where did the concept of organizing the ‘Hong Kong Masters 2017’ come from?

The theme of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is ‘Together • Progress • Opportunity’. Local snooker players, regardless of age and gender, such as Marco Fu, Fung Kwok Wai, Andy Lee Chun Wai, Ng On Yee, Katrina Wan, Cheung Ka Wai, Tam Yun Fung have great achievements in numerous international tournaments over the past years. The Hong Kong Masters 2017 offers public the opportunity to enjoy a high-level tournament at a close distance, to witness how local and international players compete with determination and in the hope that would inspire the audience to pursue their dreams and strive for the glory of Hong Kong.

5. What is the ticket price for ‘Hong Kong Masters 2017’?

Tickets for the Hong Kong Masters 2017 will be opened for sale from 22 June. ​​For the Quarterfinals on 20 and 21 July, ticket price ranges from HK$100, $200 and $300. For Semi-finals and Final on 22 and 23 July, ticket price ranges from HK$150, $300 and $450. A 50% discount will be offered to full-time students, the disabled and seniors over the age of 60 (discount is not applicable for the $450 tickets on 23 July). 

Please note: 

  • The ticket holder is eligible for attending all matches happening on the date marked on the ticket.

  • Children under 6 years-old are not allowed to be at the event.

6. Where can I purchase tickets for the ‘Hong Kong Masters 2017’?

Tickets are available for sale from URBTIX outlets or via online, phone app and hotline (+852 2111 5999) booking.

Due the limited number of tickets, organizer advise any interested parties to purchase event tickets as early as possible. On the first day of ticket sale, each customer can purchase up to 4 tickets from the same event date i.e. each transaction can purchase a maximum of 16 tickets. After the first day of ticket sale, there is no limit on the number of tickets purchased by each customer.

7. If I purchase the wrong tickets, can they be cancelled or exchanged?

All tickets sold are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. You cannot have your seats cancelled or bookings changed after the transaction is completed. You should check the transaction details before you confirm your order. The organizer will not be responsible for any mistakes during the transaction process.

8. Can I enjoy the 'Hong Kong Masters 2017' through other channels if I cannot attend the event?

Public can enjoy the event with ease at home as Now TV will not only provide live steaming of the event but also pre-event behind-the-scenes for public to follow the happenings around the Hong Kong Masters 2017. Apart from Now TV, ViuTV will also televise part of the event throughout the Hong Kong Masters 2017 tournament week.

9. Is there a back-up plan if any player withdraw from the ‘Hong Kong Masters 2017’?

If any player withdraw because of injuries or any other reasons, the organizer will invite other players of equivalent competitiveness to ensure the event is attractive to guests.

10. What are the house rules for audience?

  • Spectators must show their tickets to gain entry.

  • Please sit only in your designated seat number 15 minutes before the match start.

  • If you need to leave or enter the arena during a match, please wait until the end of a frame.

  • The organiser reserves the right to refrain any spectator enter the match venue during a frame.

  • Turn phones off or on silent mode.

  • No pictures while the match is in progress. Dedicated time is allocated for pictures after matches.

  • Glass bottled beverages may not be brought into the stadium.

There will be no public parking space at the stadium.

11. What if there is any adverse weather condition on event day?

  • If Typhoon signal number 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning signal is hoisted 2 hours before the commencement of the match, the matches may be postponed, cancelled or rescheduled. If the above stated adverse weather conditions is hoisted during the match, the match will continue. If necessary, the match may be held behind closed doors.

  • In the case of adverse weather conditions which lead to any changes to the event arrangement, organizer will issue an official announcement on event website and Facebook page to notify the public of these changes. Organizer will notify media in respect of these changes as well.

  • Purchaser of any ticket shall be entitled to a refund only in the event of adverse weather conditions which result in cancellation of the match, re-schedule of the match or the match being held behind closed doors. In such event, refund procedures will be posted on official website within 48 hours. Refunds will only be given upon presentation of ticket stub and will not apply to complimentary tickets.

  • Organizer has the right to change at any time the schedule of matches.
